Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk says his deal to buy Twitter is “temporarily on hold” after the social network reported that false or spam accounts comprised less than 5 percent of its 226 million monetizable daily active users. Right after Musk’s tweet, the price of Twitter’s stock plunged more than 18 percent. The Tesla boss earlier said that if his acquisition went through one of his priorities would be to remove “spam bots” from the platform, alongside prioritizing free speech and open-sourcing the platform’s ranking algorithms.
