Another prominent NFT initiative is about to make the leap from the blockchain to the big screen, as the NFT-to-movie pipeline is ramping up. Arad Productions, a Marvel film producer, announced intentions to adapt artist Ben Mauro’s Ethereum NFT comic book project Huxley into a feature film yesterday. Huxley is a science-fiction story told in six digital issues that may be purchased as Ethereum NFTs. To make the film, Arad Productions has paired up with Web3-focused production studio Feature, and has enlisted Academy Award-nominated VFX supervisor Jerome Chen—a co-founder of Sony Pictures Imageworks—to assist in bringing Mauro’s vision to a new platform. Huxley’s first teaser video uses CG animation to depict the comic world’s post-apocalyptic reality. However, because it’s classified as a “cinematic trailer,” it’s possible that it’s only creating the tone for the project rather than revealing the final product.
